Few artists are as intertwined with the history of Boombalfestival as Aurélien Claranbaux. A beloved presence since the early days, he has returned almost every year — not only as a phenomenal folk musician, but also as a true sound wizard behind the scenes. With a passion for quality sound, an obsession for gear, and his own recording studio, Aurélien is the perfect fit as one of the festival’s sound engineers. Together with fellow musician-sound experts Jeroen Geerinck and Ward Dhoore, he ensures that every note at Boombalfestival is crystal clear and deeply felt.

Over the years, he has graced the stage with bands like Zef, Duo Absynthe or the Duo Claranbaux-Geerinck (2/3 of our sound team and with Ward at the sound 3/3), and just last year, he delivered a breathtaking set surrounded by a host of musical friends he personally invited.

This year, Aurélien takes the stage solo with his accordion. Expect an intimate yet powerful and majestic bal — a performance that promises to linger long after the final note.
