Boccadoro is a musical project born in 2020 from the encounter of four young Italian musicians trained in classical music, united by the desire to transcend genre boundaries and rediscover the living pulse of dance and folk traditions.

The ensemble is conceived as a creative laboratory where tradition and innovation meet freely – the precision and harmonic depth of classical training blend with the rhythm, spontaneity and vibrant energy of contemporary folk. The result is a unique musical language where polyphony merges with the breath of dance and music becomes a space for listening, connection and shared expression.

The group’s name is inspired by Narcissus and Goldmund by Hermann Hesse. In this literary duality – between Narcissus, representing contemplation, order and spirituality, and Goldmund (Boccadoro in Italian), driven by curiosity, movement and life – the ensemble finds its mirror. Boccadoro embraces the journey, discovery and transformation, making dance and music a metaphor for encounter and exchange.
