Accordionist and composer, Rémi Geffroy is a curious musician with many facets. Rich in diverse influences, he has created his own style that blends traditional music, classical, and jazz.
Born in 1987 in Toulouse, he was immersed in traditional music throughout his childhood. With a grandfather who played the harmonica and a grandmother who led a folk group in Aveyron, he absorbed popular tunes before starting diatonic accordion lessons at the Cahors Conservatory at the age of 10. A few years later, he picked up the bass guitar and joined various jazz, variety, and pop-rock cover bands.
After earning a degree in musicology, he began composing for the accordion and released his first album Entre-deux (2012). He continued to explore genre fusion with the release of an EP Parenthèse (2014), in which he played most of the instruments. Two years later, he composed his second album Du jour au lendemain and joined the Celtic rock band The Booze Brothers. The band released The Lemming Experience (2019), the same year as his album with his trio Dose de bal. Following a year of lockdown, a time of creation, Odysseus, his new album with eclectic influences, was born in 2021 after over a year of work with six other musicians from diverse backgrounds.
From balls to concerts, as well as leading numerous workshops and stages, his distinctive style and original compositions have taken him across France and Europe in recent years.
